Desperation vs Business Growth | Business Success Coach for Photographers and Creatives

Desperation vs Business Growth for Photographers and Creatives

Do you feel like your photography or creative business isn’t growing fast enough?

One of the most common causes for businesses to not grow is because the business owner has misaligned expectations for their efforts.

If they are expecting a specific result in an unrealistic amount of time, it creates desperation.

Desperation in business leads to reactionary behavior.

  • To drastically change things,

  • to stop putting in the effort where they were before giving it time for momentum to grow,

  • to find a 'new' solution (that often derails the progress that have been making but are not paying attention to),

  • to cut off what actually IS working and helping them.

This can cause people also not to be able to see what is working because it's not working 'fast enough'. Even if they are measuring their KPIs (performance indexes), they could feel like it’s not good enough.

When the expectations are that it should be moving faster.

When the reality is that it's moving just as it should, there is nothing wrong.

This also causes the business owner to not even see their own growth a lot of the time and constantly feel like whatever growth they have had 'still isn't enough'.

It will never feel like enough if the business owner's perspective is to look at all the ways they assume it’s not working or not enough- instead of seeing their growth for what it is.

If the expectation was aligned, it would feel like enough.

It would feel like the growth is as awesome as it has been instead of comparing to an alternate reality from a misaligned expectation- and chasing this 'enough'.

Everything takes time.

There is no ultra-quick fix for complex situations.

You can't go 0 to 100 without taking the time to hit 1-99, first.
